Edward Allen Karr is the pen name of Edward Sechkar—easier to pronounce and hopefully, easier to remember too. I live in Ohio, USA and lately, I’ve spent a larger than usual portion of my time at home. Besides my last remaining cat, Teddy, I relish the antics of squirrels, birds, and chipmunks by day and sometimes an occasional raccoon or skunk or possum after dark.
A large amount of my time (even when I should be asleep!) is devoted to thinking about my next book. Or chapter or scene. Or even the absolute best word to use in one particular sentence. I’m thoroughly thrilled to have finished writing A World So Close, a middle-grade fantasy & coming of age series of novels. It’s a six-book series with a prequel sneaking in at the beginning.
When I write, my imagination leads me places I never would have anticipated and sometimes, even I am surprised as the story unfolds. I’ve learned that the characters (including the cats, Hex and Halo) mostly decide what’s going on, and the best I can do is get out of their way . . . but still remain close enough to reach the keyboard.
I sincerely wish that readers of A World So Close enjoy the adventures of Jayden and Raylene, along with the amazing cats, Hex and Halo, as much as I have enjoyed telling their stories. Be on the lookout for the sequel series to A World So Close, which I plan to jump into very soon!
